A portion of the author's royalty from this book is being donated to The Mark Wright Project, a charity based in Scotland which offers support to ex-servicemen and women from all branches of the Armed Forces and the families of those who have been injured or killed conflict, helping them to overcome the invisible wounds of war.
The charity was established by Bob and Jem Wright, whose son, Corporal Mark Wright, a paratrooper with the 3rd Battalion, Parachute Regiment stationed in Helmand Province, Southern Afghanistan, was killed in action on September 6th 2006. Mark entered a minefield in an extraordinary attempt to save the lives of other injured soldiers, but sadly Mark lost his life during the incident.
